Tekken 8 could very well receive rollback netcode, as Arika has announced in a press release that it has been contracted to oversee “any update of the Software including improvements, bug fixes, and usability improvements for online matches.”
While Bandai Namco Games is still overseeing game balancing, Arika is also offering “advice on our developed online battle algorithms and game response, as well as undertake production work to improve the user experience.” This latter statement suggests that rollback netcode could be part of the equation, which would go a long way to improving the online modes.
Tekken 8 received a batch of new footage and info during the Tekken World Tour 2022 Finals in Amsterdam yesterday evening, including the reveal of Nina Williams and details on its new mechanics, including the Heat system.
Tekken 8 is currently in development for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S.
